Welcome to the San Gabriel River Equestrian Coalition (SGREC) web site.

SGREC is a coalition of equestrian groups and individuals in the San Gabriel Valley dedicated to preserving, protecting, and enhancing equestrian resources in the San Gabriel River corridor.

The San Gabriel River Master Plan is in development. The equestrian community has strong ties to the San Gabriel River going back over a century and we are working to be adequately represented in this plan.

We need your help! We will need to have an inventory of trails in the Corridor and a better grasp of the areas which have horsekeeping and which would be affected by loss of access to the trail system. The outcome of this should be more trails with better access, and a recognition that equestrians are not pursuing just another hobby but are leading a way of life with strong positive values and a history dating back thousands of years.
