FYI from Glenn Miller, Astronomer and Telescope Operator Emeritus of
Griffith Observatory...
Begin forwarded message:
On Friday, Nov. 27th, the International Space Station (ISS) will make
a brilliant appearance as it passes high overhead! At 5:34pm start
looking for a bright "star" rising in the northwest. It may also
appear to brighten and speed up as it floats above your head (near
5:37pm). Below is a star map that may be helpful.
Don't miss this Black Friday event ...it's free!
Astronomically Yours,
Glenn

Hold the star map in front of you so that the direction that you are
facing is at the bottom.
For example, if you are looking north, turn the map upside down so
that “N” is at the bottom.
The circular edge of the map is the distant horizon (flat ground
where earth and sky meet).
The center is the zenith (the point in the sky directly above your
head).
