[ACT] Good news about trails! (finally)

Yes, I went over there this morning and took some pictures and talked to the
project manager. She said the road they're grading now is just a work
platform on which they'll position the equipment. Here's how I recall her
description of the plan.

They will build the roadbed out from the slope about thirty feet from where
they're currently working, using wire baskets described as like a 24" thick
mattress in proportion and orientation. The baskets will be assembled in
steppes, with 12" rock being mostly dry fitted by hand so that it will be
less prone to voids than it would be if it were simply dumped. Once the 12"
rock is secure, it will be filled in with smaller aggregate from the site
(mostly decomposed granite).

Once the roadbed is finished, they will build an apron wall on the uphill
side to catch future slips. The apron wall will allow for a skip loader to
get behind it so debris can be cleared as a matter of routine.
