Subscribing

You can subscribe from the mailing list using the web interface mentioned earlier. Or, you can send email to eti-request@fourpalms.org. This is an automated mailing list and the mail must contain exactly the following lines in the body of the message:

  subscribe
  end

You will receive in return email a message asking for confirmation of your subscription with instructions on how to respond. After that confirmation step, you will receive notification that you have subscribed to the list, and instructions on how to unsubscribe at any time in the future. It is a good idea to keep these instructions handy, but you can get new instructions by sending the message

  help
  end
to eti-request@fourpalms.org.

As always, feel free to contact Tom Lockhart with questions or requests.

Unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe from the mailing list using the web interface mentioned earlier. Or, you can send email to eti-request@fourpalms.org. This is an automated mailing list and the mail must contain exactly the following lines in the body of the message:

  unsubscribe
  end

If you have trouble, send Tom Lockhart a message asking to be removed from the list.

Mailing List Etiquette

Many folks have had some experience with electronic mailing lists, and they should find that this list is similar to most others. Be polite, be concise, but please don't hesitate to participate! The list is here to be used to discuss horses and trails and anything else related.

Consider the list like a meeting room. Folks are having a public discussion, and are interested in what you have to say even if you are addressing one person in particular. So when replying to messages, please use Reply to All (for most cases anyway) so that your conversation happens on-list.
